The DARE program continues strong in our elementary schools. DARE educates our young citizens about the dangers of drugs, alcohol, and poor choices. Each winter and spring the student’s work is culminated in a graduation ceremony held at each of the elementary schools.
These programs are a collaborative effort by law enforcement officers, educators, students, parents, and the community to offer law related educational programs in the schools in an effort to reduce crime, drug abuse, violence, and provide a safe school environment. Each and everyday we strive to equip our youth with the tools necessary for them to grow into safe and successful adults.
The National D.A.R.E Web site, dare.com, receives more than 11 million hits a month, providing valuable information to not just D.A.R.E. officers but anyone seeking reliable and timely information on drug prevention. Other family resources also are available at the site.
